As Queensland's largest full-time performing arts company employing 88 full-time musicians and the state's only professional symphony orchestra, QSO plays a vital role in Queensland's cultural community, giving over 100 live performances across 47 weeks each year to more than 100,000 people. QSO is renowned for its high quality, breath-taking performances of both classical and modern compositions that engage audiences of all musical tastes, interests and ages.

Auditions to be held on 24 August 2010.
A piano accompanist will be provided on the audition day.

Audition requirements:

  • Mozart Bassoon Concerto: movement 1 on bassoon (exposition only, no cadenza with piano accompaniment)
  • Mozart Bassoon Concerto: movement 2 on contrabassoon (exposition only, no cadenza with piano accompaniment)
  • Orchestral excerpts (available after 27 July 2010).

Salary package range $65,419 to $71,159 including superannuation up to 12% (conditions apply), plus allowances.
