Queensland Symphony Orchestra is moving to Southbank in 2012! As Queensland's largest full time performing arts company employing 88 full-time musicians and the state's only professional symphony orchestra, QSO plays a vital role in Queensland's cultural community, giving over 100 live performances across 47 weeks each year to more than 100,000 people. QSO is renowned for its high quality, breath-taking performances of both classical and modern compositions that engage audiences of all musical tastes, interests and ages.

Audition requirements:
- Two contrasting movements from any Double Bass Concerto including cadenzas where appropriate (with piano accompaniment)
- Orchestral excerpts
- Sightreading may be required on the audition day
Salary range $49,337 to $62,360 including superannuation up to 12% (conditions apply), plus allowances.
Positions are only open to Australian permanent residents or New Zealand citizens.

- Mozart Oboe Concerto: movements 1 and 2 (with piano accompaniment)
- Strauss Oboe Concerto: movement 1 only (with piano accompaniment)

Salary range $74,698 to $78,241 including superannuation up to 12% (conditions apply), plus allowances.

Second Violin* - Section Musician
Position available from 21 June 2010. Auditions to be held on 27 April 2010.
A piano accompanist will be provided on the audition day.
Orchestral excerpts will be available here after 12 April 2010 or available as hard copy on request.
Audition requirements:
- Any Mozart Violin Concerto (1st Movement only with cadenza)
- Any substantial contrasting piece or first movement of romantic concerto
- Orchestral excerpts
Salary range $49,337 to $62,360 including superannuation up to 12% (conditions apply), plus allowances.
Positions are only open to Australian permanent residents or New Zealand citizens.
* Please note: Second Violin Section Musicians may be required to perform in the First Violin Section on occasion when directed.

Marketing Executive
Are you interested in playing your part in re-energising your state orchestra's marketing program? Then come on board with our marketing department as we prepare your state orchestra's move into the highly visible Southbank precinct.
Answering directly to the Director - Marketing & Development, you will responsible to establish our strategic marketing capability. The person we are looking for will have:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications such as Communications, Business, Marketing or a related discipline
- Demonstrated high level marketing experience in brand and product management
- Demonstrated ability to forward plan, develop and deliver efficient and effective marketing strategies and campaigns
- Proven leadership capability
